Education and Expertise

Dr. Ortigosa earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bilbao, specialized in Stomatology at the University of the Basque Country, and in Orthodontics at the University of Oviedo.

He completed his training with a Diploma in Orthodontics from the University of Southern California under Dr. Harry Dougherty and at the Tweed Foundation (Tucson, AZ).

Since then, continuous education has been a constant in his work philosophy, particularly in the field of dental aesthetics as a complement to orthodontic treatments.

Dr. Ortigosa is an active member of SEDO (Spanish Society of Orthodontics), the Tweed Foundation for Orthodontic Research, SEPA (Spanish Society of Periodontics), SEPES (Spanish Society of Stomatological Prosthetics and Aesthetics), and study groups in Spain and Canada.

Dr. Roberto Ortigosa is married to Dr. Ana Bañales. They have three children: Ana, Jerusalen, and Javier.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, playing tennis, skiing, and enjoying nature.
